“I always felt left out of academia…”
I graduated college in 2020 with an English degree in one hand and a growing fear in the other. Throughout college, I sat in the back of the class; an anxiety disorder made it impossible to speak up, and unfamiliarity with academia made it even more impossible to feel welcome. When I graduated, I was afraid of everyone realizing that I’m not as smart as they thought. That fear—or, rather, the quest to terminate that fear in others—defines my work on Youtube: I never want anyone to watch my videos and feel like they don’t fit in there. Like they aren’t “smart” enough or “educated” enough to partake in academic settings.
Learning should make you think, laugh, cry, and everything in between. Most of all, it should welcome you with open arms.
I’m making it my mission to define a new wave of learning—one video at a time.
